Language and Complicity –

Families are held together by narratives imbued with myth. This prevents them from falling apart as a result of discussions about ethical issues. The murderer, for example, is still a hero. The family is situated within a coordinate system outside of any ethical or legal framework, in which forced labor and murder are established as reality. The family, which by its very nature is a heterogeneous social entity, is thus transformed into a rigid unit. Every single individual is corrupted by passive complicity. They are ominously fused together as a group. Complicity with those who exercised violent control over the lives of others is thus perpetuated across generations.Language can serve to restrict freedom. It is used to keep others down and control them over the course of decades.
