examples – 8 – the easter walk

The easter walk – when I sit alone at my desk in the evening, I write down the conversation, taking in once again the people I’ve heard about or the landscape that was described. Everything I’ve experienced in my interactions with people takes up space within me. It’s now late in the evening, and I gaze at the glacier, which glows whitish in the twilight behind the scattered tall spruce trees in the distance.

And now I visualize something. I dream: this group of people, whom I am now looking at in the photograph, come to life before my eyes. A moving image emerges: Slightly torn by the still-cool Easter winds, I hear a girl’s bright laughter. I now sense it: this is a close-knit little family group that nothing can separate. The history of the war that followed has proven this fact to this day.
