method – 2 – Containment

Containment as a method of self-preservation and protection against one’s own repressive forces –  Amid the chaos of events, I construct various forms of chronologies or logical frameworks during my research. This is particularly true when the intensity and frequency of violent incidents within the family are high, and the individual’s entanglement in historical events is complex. Totalitarian regimes use the method of isolating and disorienting the individual within the collective through the moral pressure of guilt, thereby weakening or annihilate them.

Le Struthof on Mont-Louise was once a popular destination for the people of Strasbourg, featuring a hotel and several ski slopes. On June 22, 1940, Alsace and Lorraine were occupied by the german Wehrmacht. The Germans built in the year 1941 a concentration camp and declared the area a forbidden zone.
