Everything I\u2019ve experienced in my interactions with people takes up space within me. It\u2019s now late in the evening, and I gaze at the glacier, which glows whitish in the twilight behind the scattered tall spruce trees in the distance.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-16762\" src=\"https:\/\/preserving-family-history.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/IMG_0679-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/preserving-family-history.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/IMG_0679-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/preserving-family-history.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/IMG_0679-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/preserving-family-history.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/IMG_0679-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/preserving-family-history.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/IMG_0679-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/preserving-family-history.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/IMG_0679-2048x1536.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And now I visualize something.\u00a0I dream: this group of people, whom I am now looking at in the photograph, come to life before my eyes. A moving image emerges: Slightly torn by the still-cool Easter winds, I hear a girl\u2019s bright laughter. I now sense it: this is a close-knit little family group that nothing can separate.
